We’re excited to announce that Affordable Family Law of Oregon is now a service of The Commons Law Center.
The Commons Law Center is a nonprofit law firm that provides sliding-scale legal services to everyday Oregonians, anyone who makes less than 400% of the federal poverty level (currently $103,000 for a family of four). Our programs compliment legal aid, which is limited by law to helping people who make far less money.
We offer a free 15-minute consultation, and our low-cost services help people who need an attorney to help with
- Reviewing documents you’ve created or filled out for your own legal filings.
- Starting a Divorce process, including a consultation, drafting, and filing all necessary documents.
- Responding to Divorce Papers served on you by your spouse (note: You have a strict time limit for this response!)
- Filing a Stipulated Judgment for your divorce (when you and your spouse have agreed on terms).
- Enforcing your Parenting Plan if your co-parent isn’t following its directions
- Modifications to your divorce decree or parenting plan.
- Responding to a Motion to Modify your decree when your ex is trying to change things (note: You have a strict time limit for this response!)
- Changing Custody of your minor children.
- Defending Your Right to Custody when your co-parent is trying to change things (note: You have a strict time limit for this response!)
You can also request a 1-hour Attorney Consultation, where you’ll talk with one of our family law attorneys who will listen to your situation, answer your questions about family law in Oregon, and provide a clear next step for handling your legal issues.
All of our offerings start with a Free 15-minute Phone Call with one of our intake specialists. They will gather some basic information about you, listen to understand the legal issues you’re facing, and pre-qualify you to connect with one of our family law attorneys.
Click here to get started and begin the qualification process. You will be able to tell us about your legal issue.
